The Company “Kilkotagiri and Thirumbadi Plantations Limited” was incorporated in the year 1919. The journey started, immediately after its incorporation on 23rd December. Thereafter, “Kilkotagiri and Thirumbadi Plantations Limited” started commencing business, and indulged into Tea, Coffee & Rubber. Company’s Tea division is situated in Nilgiris, Tamilnadu, having total area of about 812 hectares, consisting of Tea and Coffee. Rubber plantation is located in Kerala, near Calicut, having total area of about 724 hectares.
Presently, the Company Kilkotagiri and Thirumbadi Plantations Limited is part of S.K. Bangur group. The Board of Directors consists of: Shri S.K. Bangur as Chairman, Smt. Shashi Bangur, Shri Virendraa Bangur, Shri S.K. Poddar, Shri. Krishna Kumar Lohia as Directors and Shri. M. K. Patwari – Whole Time Director & Chief Executive Officer.
The Registered Office is situated at The Thirumbadi Estate, Mokkam P.O – 673602, Kozhikode, Kerala. The Administrative and Head Office is at Pinnacle Krishna Building, 581/4, 2nd Floor, D.B. Road, R.S. Puram, Coimbatore – 641002. The Corporate Office is located at 707, Central Plaza, 2/6, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata – 700020. Company has its Sales Depot at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Company’s Tea division is situated at the altitude of 3,800 – 5,541 feet above sea level, in Nilgiri district on the southern most tip of Western Ghats in South India. Nilgiris in Tamilnadu is known for its special flavour and quality tea. Company is mainly engaged in growing and manufacturing of Tea. Because of good climate and elevation, Coffee and Spices are also grown at Kilkotagiri Estate.
Existing capacity of the Factory is around Thirty Lac kg per annum, consisting of Green Tea and Black Tea (Orthodox & CTC). The company’s factory has been rebuilt in 2011, having all facilities as above.
Kilkotagiri Tea is certified under Rain Forest Alliance (RA), UTZ, FSSAI and ISO 22000: 2005. This ensures, that our product is manufactured and marked by following the code of conduct, which demonstrates better working conditions, farming methods, and care for nature. This leads to quality production, a better environment and a better life for everyone.
